New private members' club Dorsia to launch in South Kensington

New private members' club and restaurant, Dorsia, will open its doors later this September. Located in a Georgian townhouse in South Kensington, this new development will hold three venues under one roof: a private club and bar together with a stand alone restaurant that will be open to both members and the public. Named after the fictional restaurant in the film American Psycho, Dorsia was founded by Nick Andreen and Fraser Carruthers - both formerly of members club Boujis.

In the wake of a £2.4 million refit overseen by interior designer George Rose, the building has been completely refurbished with period features restored. The basement has been transformed into a private members’ club that is itself divided into several very different and eclectically designed spaces. The ground floor hosts the members only bar, while the 40-seater restaurant is located on the first floor. In charge of Dorsia’s kitchens is Alexander Baillieu and mixologists and multi award-winners Thomas Gillgren (Sketch) and Fredrik Olsson (Kosmopol) will provide Dorsia’s cocktail menu.

Harley Street Skin introduces new non-surgical anti-ageing procedure

Pellevé is a newly developed, non invasive and non-surgical procedure specifically designed to treat mild to moderate facial wrinkles. Typical areas and problems would include sagging under the chin, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the mouth, lines or folds between the eyebrows, lines on the forehead, excess skin on the upper eyelid, crow’s feet or a tired or unhappy expression. Pellevé works by heating the deep layers of the skin without damaging the epidermis or top layer. This heat initially causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten, then after treatment, the skin starts producing new collagen, resulting in an improvement of skin quality, firmness and tightness. Results can be seen immediately and should last up to six months.

Pellevé is now available at Harley Street Skin, 48 Harley Street, London W1. The clinic is under the direction of Dr Aamer Khan and Lesley Reynolds Khan and both are available for consultations or quotes.

HARE Styling Appeal launches in aid of Great Ormond Street

A number of luminaries from the art and entertainment worlds are contributing to the HARE Styling Appeal, a new charity auction in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. The HARE Styling appeal was started by Karen Welman and hairdresser Michael Van Clarke whose daughter Angelica was given a lifesaving operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital when she was two days old. Now aged 15, Angelica has drawn a hare to help raise funds for the hospital that saved her life. The hare has been reproduced on A4 canvases which have been sent to well-known names in the public eye inviting them to create an original artwork. These will be auctioned for charity both online and at an exclusive ‘Hare Ball’ at The Dorchester Park Lane on 26 May.

The artwork of celebrities, artists, hairdressers, local residents and contributors alike will go on display at Heartbreak in London from 16 April until 8 May, with a launch event on 14 April. Heartbreak is a new gallery based in a six-storey townhouse in the heart of Marylebone.

Names including Tracey Emin, Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Jamie Oliver, Stella McCartney, Twiggy, Catherine Tate, Jack Vettriano, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Terry Venables, HRH Princess Beatrice and The Duchess of York have already returned their canvases with many more expected ahead of the March deadline. The majority of canvases will be featured in a hard bound printed book to raise further money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Tracie Giles introduces new Gloss&Go anti-ageing lip treatment

Tracie Giles has just launched the new Gloss&Go anti-ageing lip treatment. First, the team ‘map’ the lip definition using cosmetic pencils. A bespoke mineral pigment is then hand blended, this can be from neutral shades through to pink and red tones. Using digital technology, the pigment is infused into the epidermis of the lip line, then feathered into the body of the lip to give the illusion of fullness while adding a flush of colour. This method of application ensures a defined border with no obvious lip-line. The Gloss&Go treatment, priced from £250.00, takes approximately one hour with results lasting between 9 and 18 months.

Tracie Giles semi-permanent cosmetics boutique is located at 24 Beauchamp Place, London, SW3. For more information visit www.traciegiles.co.uk.
