New private members' club Dorsia to launch in South Kensington

New private members' club and restaurant, Dorsia, will open its doors later this September. Located in a Georgian townhouse in South Kensington, this new development will hold three venues under one roof: a private club and bar together with a stand alone restaurant that will be open to both members and the public. Named after the fictional restaurant in the film American Psycho, Dorsia was founded by Nick Andreen and Fraser Carruthers - both formerly of members club Boujis.

In the wake of a £2.4 million refit overseen by interior designer George Rose, the building has been completely refurbished with period features restored. The basement has been transformed into a private members’ club that is itself divided into several very different and eclectically designed spaces. The ground floor hosts the members only bar, while the 40-seater restaurant is located on the first floor. In charge of Dorsia’s kitchens is Alexander Baillieu and mixologists and multi award-winners Thomas Gillgren (Sketch) and Fredrik Olsson (Kosmopol) will provide Dorsia’s cocktail menu.

New Diet Coke collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld

Diet Coke has announced its second fashion collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld. The designer will create three new and exclusive designs for the iconic Diet Coke bottle. Available this summer, the ‘Diet Coke Limited Edition Collection by Karl Lagerfeld’ uses elements of his trademark style, a contrasting black and white palette and clean lines broken with colour or detailing.

For this collection, Lagerfeld has taken inspiration from the new Diet Coke heroines; Bernadette, Eleanor and Irene, puppets that will appear in the brand’s new TV campaign across Europe. The first design is a polka dot pattern in brushed metal grey contrasts with glossy white. The second bottle features a pink swirl encircling the bottle, while the third has a bold stud pattern. All three designs feature Karl Lagerfeld’s silhouette and are numbered (1,2,3). The ‘Diet Coke Limited Edition Collection by Karl Lagerfeld’ bottles will be available individually or as a set in an exclusive prism-shaped Collector’s Box created by the designer.

Swooning for Macaroonies

TREND Stylist Addie has a secret talent hidden up her always stylish sleeves. That talent is making marvelous macarons. This exotic and rare treat originates from various countries such as France and Italy. They are expensive treats that come in all colors, flavors and pretty boxes too. They are a fancy delicacy. Even John Galliano hopped on board with the macaron craze. He collaborated with a world renowned chef to make his very own limited edition pink macarons!

Now, macarons are a tricky treat. Adelaide confesses herself," It's all in the "technique", so they say. I haven't quite mastered it myself." Although they are difficult, she keeps trying and has fun every time. The perfect macaron is supposed to have an eggshell like crust and a soft almost meringue texture.

Salted caramel macarons are her favorite to make.

Here is the recipe for her favorite Parisian macarons--Salted Caramel Macarons.
