Harley Street Skin introduces new non-surgical anti-ageing procedure

Pellevé is a newly developed, non invasive and non-surgical procedure specifically designed to treat mild to moderate facial wrinkles. Typical areas and problems would include sagging under the chin, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the mouth, lines or folds between the eyebrows, lines on the forehead, excess skin on the upper eyelid, crow’s feet or a tired or unhappy expression. Pellevé works by heating the deep layers of the skin without damaging the epidermis or top layer. This heat initially causes the collagen in the skin to contract and tighten, then after treatment, the skin starts producing new collagen, resulting in an improvement of skin quality, firmness and tightness. Results can be seen immediately and should last up to six months.

Pellevé is now available at Harley Street Skin, 48 Harley Street, London W1. The clinic is under the direction of Dr Aamer Khan and Lesley Reynolds Khan and both are available for consultations or quotes.

French organic cosmetics brand Melvita is continuing its global expansion by opening its first UK store in November 2010. Following the successful UK launch online in January 2010, Melvita has expanded to offer an assortment of products in Whole Foods Stores, Harrods and selected John Lewis’. Melvita has secured a site for the stand-alone store in the new St Martin’s Courtyard development in Covent Garden, enabling the whole range to be presented together for the first time in the UK. With the expertise to deliver skincare products targeted to individual skin needs – hydration, anti-ageing or radiance – as well as everyday key personal care products including Shower, Haircare and Mother & Baby, customers can shop across each of the Melvita product areas for all of their personal care. A Consultation Island in the centre of the store will enable customers to have personalised consultations with the trained Melvita staff, with an integral sink unit to be used for demonstrating and fully experiencing the products before making decisions. Encompassing nature and the local community is important for Melvita, so a community area with a chalk board, books and events table will encourage the local community to interact in-store and enable the store to host events, workshops and promotional activities. The St Martin’s Courtyard store is expected to open mid-November 2010.

Created by Allergan, Juvéderm HYDRATE was given a European CE mark in December 2009 and has been clinically proven to deeply hydrate the skin by delivering hyaluronic acid (HA) into the skin through a series of tiny injections. As well as containing HA, it also contains the anti-oxidant, mannitol and together, these allow the skin to regain its natural smoothness and reveal a healthy glow. This treatment is likely to be a popular first step for those who have resisted other forms of injectable aestheticoptions. Dr Phillips is confident it will appeal to those who know they need a little more than anti-ageing skincare, but are not yet ready to try fillers or other more permanent anti-ageing solutions. Depending on the individuals skin condition Dr Toni would create a bespoke treatment from a six weekly treatment plan to injections ever three months. ‘Glow Getters’ is available from Dr Toni Phillips at Renew Medica and costs around £250.00 per treatment.
