Topshop announce appointment of Kate Phelan as Creative Director

Topshop has today (10 June) announced the appointment of Kate Phelan as Creative Director of the brand. Kate has been a long-term collaborator with Topshop while in her role as fashion director of British Vogue, where she has worked since 1993.

Kate will focus on the creative direction of the brand, overseeing product development and brand identity, bringing her vision and experience across all levels of the business.

Kate Phelan comments: “I am thrilled to be joining the Topshop team as Creative Director. Topshop is the most influential, dynamic fashion brand on the high street, a pioneer in both store experience and designer collaborations. I look forward to contributing to Topshop’s next chapter.”

Mary Homer, Managing Director of Topshop, added: “I am absolutely delighted that Kate will be joining the Topshop team. Her experience and knowledge of fashion will further develop Topshop as a global fashion brand and shopping destination.”

VOGUE.COM to launch Fashion’s Night In

Following the success of the VOGUE’s ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ in September, VOGUE.COM is to launch its digital equivalent, ‘Fashion’s Night In’, for a stay-at-home shopping experience. On 1 November, all the biggest key fashion and beauty e-tailers from high-end to high street will be offering online shoppers exclusive fashion and beauty offers, bespoke video content and competitions. E-tailers confirmed to date include, ASOS, Net-a-Porter, Matches, Browns, Astley Clarke, My-Wardrobe and in the beauty sector, Space NK. VOGUE.COM will be blogging all night, with regular updates going live every five minutes, alerting readers where to get the best bargains and when. A percentage of all sales made on the night will go to the same charity supported by Fashion’s Night Out, Kids Company (www.kidsco.org.uk). E-tailers interested in participating in the event can request admission via VOGUE.COM’s dedicated micro site: www.vogue.co.uk/fashions-night-in. From there, brands will be contacted with approval and confirmation of offers by members of the VOGUE.COM team. In the lead up to the night, shoppers can also log on to the micro site which will list all of the activity planned for the evening, allowing readers to plan their online shopping itinerary.

Moschino creates limited edition notebook for Vogue Fashion Night Out

For the second consecutive year Moschino is participating in Vogue Fashion’s Night Out; a global retail initiative promoted by the international editions of Vogue, where an evening of shopping will take place in worldwide capitals from the 7-16 September. Moschino has created a limited edition notebook for the occasion, which will sell at a price of €25.00 in Moschino boutiques worldwide. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to local charities supported by Vogue. In Moschino flagship stores in Milan via Spiga and via Sant’Andrea, New York, London and Berlin the special shop windows ‘I ♥ Shopping’ will installed. Guests will have the chance to be photographed in an absolutely Moschino context as part of the shop window. Following this, guests will then have the opportunity to download their pictures on www.moschino.com. For those who are not able to participate on the evening; there is also the opportunity to be virtually present in the “I ♥ Shopping” window by uploading a portrait of themselves to www.moschino.com. Participants of the Moschino project for Vogue Fashion’s Night Out will be entitled to 10% discount on online purchases of Autumn/Winter 2010-11 collection.
