Happy New Years!

I'm back in Tennessee, Christmas decorations and gifts are sorted and put away, our house is clean and orderly, and most importantly my studio is clean and organized with cleared work spaces.

I'm ready to begin another year of creativity.  Now to decide IF there will be a major project that will be my main adventure.  If so, WHAT will it be?  In the meantime, I'll be playing with several "mess of yarn" projects ... starting (or is that continuing) with the one over my left shoulder.

Wishing all of you out there a happy New Year filled with creative adventures!

Amato by Furne One: I am the Queen!

Photobucket

When i attended the Amato by Furne One haute couture show at Dubai Fashion Week (see post here) I fell head over heels in love with the designer. His latest collection featured in this editorial, titled "I am the Queen" is nothing short of amazing.
Thje garments are made using and tulle, french lace and linen, embellished with Swarovski crystal all the accessories and shoes used for his show and below are designed and constructed by Furne himself using Pallucina wood.

Transporting the models into a different era, the team behind this amazing editorial are; photographer Tina Patni,  make-up artist Ginno Alducente, hair stylist Jojo Padua and styling and creative direction by Furne One, assisted by Toby Lavares.

My Guardian Angel II

I am doing a series of "MY GUARDIAN ANGEL". This is the 2nd artwork for the said series.

Painting is my form of relaxation. The last few weeks' weather was rainy and cold, gives me more reason to just relax and paint at home.

This angel will be auctioned at OBJECTS OF ART GALLERY.

bEAR the cold...

TUESDAY ACCESSORY
Recommendation: Lavanya, TREND Writer

What used to be the stereotypical outerwear for a lumberjack has now become a fashion statement. Earflap hats are the go to headgear this winter, and their name says it all: they provide a useful ear flap which keeps the wearers ears extremely warm! Easily found in neutral tones with a fur or sheepskin layer on the inside, these hats are also available in wool. Animal ears as well as an embroidered face on the front give earflap hats a cute and fun flair, making them accessible to individuals of all ages.
Hats are available at almost any store and can range in price from $10 to around $35. Images from urbanoutfitters.com.

Illustration Friday ~ WINTER

A perfect theme for today as we brace for our first big snowfall of the season. WINTER has been a little late in rearing its head this year, but it's coming in with a vengeance today. I was happy with our little inch of snow for Christmas, but I know my youngest son is planning his adventures in a snow covered world. So, bring it on Mother Nature -- I'm braced.

I encourage you to visit the Illustration Friday website, follow the links and find all of the wonderful artwork and blogs.

Collage available in my Etsy shop.

Behind The Scenes: "Fashion for a Cause" Animal rights photoshoot

Fashion for a Cause: Behind the scenes

Photobucket

On Friday, I joined several other Dubai based bloggers for a shoot by The Fashion Network for their "Fashion for a Cause" campaign. Oversized Shades & Coffee supported Animal Rights and the idea of the shoot was the return to freedom, which meant a lot of jumping around outdoors, and just a little bit of fun with an adorable guinea pig.
