FASHION FILM: "THE TALE OF A FAIRY" BY KARL LAGERFELD

Just days before the Chanel cruise collection was revealed in the gorgeous location in south of France, Karl Lagerfeld released a preview of the season's new short film. Having been a huge fan of last year's film "Remember Now", I was very excited to see what he had in store for us, dare I say, even more so than I was to see the Cruise collection.

Written and directed by Karl Lagerfeld, The Tale of a Fairy is a creation in which he envisions the Chanel  2011/12 Cruise collection. The film was first screened at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc at the Cap d’Antibes on Monday May 9th 2011. Starring in this year's film are stars including Anna Mouglalis, Amanda Harlech, Kristen McMenamy, Freja Beha Erichsen, Bianca Balti, Baptiste Giabiconi, Brad Koening, Jake Davies, Mark Vanderloo, Oriol Elcacho, Sebastien Jondeau, Seth Kuhlmann, alongside other friends of Chanel.

At 25 minutes long, this is Lagerfeld's longest film to date and I have a feeling it won't be the last we see of his visual creations. "It's a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling" Karl said.. to me it's the kind of portrayal of beautifully twisted world that only Lagerfeld could pull off.
