Fine Art and Fashion: Like Peanut Butter and Jelly

It's great when two different types of designers come together to create a masterpiece-that is, the fashion designer and the fine artist. Looking through "Fashions of A Decade, the 1970s" by Jacqueline Hearld, I came upon this
fabulous Andy Warhol jacket, and also an advertisement for Levi's based on Michelangelo's Sistene Chapel work. Fashion and advertising often appropriate famous works in new ways. And then there are also artists who in a sense use fashion accessories as their canvas, such as Toronto shoe artist Matthieu Missiaen, who revitalizes old high heels with his colorful street art designs. Clothing design is definitely an art, and when coupled with fine art, it becomes doubly gorgeous!
