Instead, the glossy title’s fashion, beauty and trend features use real girls they recruited through nationwide castings at River Island earlier this year. Prompted by the success of their ‘real girls’ issue in 2009, Company searched the UK in February to recruit girls of any shape or size to make their modelling debut in the magazine. Eight girls, none of them professional models, have been professionally styled and photographed, with the shots used throughout all of the editorial pages of the magazine, replacing models completely.
