Floral Footwear

Forget the runway, lets frolic in the flowers! With springtime around the corner it's time to conform to the characteristics of the season and don floral prints! Especially when it comes to shoes, flowery footwear is a trendy way to accent a plain or neatural outfit. Available in heels, flats, sneakers, and even oxfords, flower printed shoes are a fun way to show your love of Spring! Check out the bouquet of apparel at Urban Outfitters, Anne Kelin, Forever 21 and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Mixed Media Monday ~ SHAPE-UP

SHAPE-UP is this month's challenge offered by Mixed Media Monday.

Whenever I add a "shape" to a piece of artwork, you can bet it's a circle. I especially love the little round foam "spouncer" that, when dipped into acrylic paint, makes a perfect circle as in this collage.

I am saddened to learn that this will be the final challenge from the wonderful folks at Mixed Media Monday. I'm so happy to have taken part in many of their great challenge ideas and grateful for their work and dedication in running this monthly challenge.

I encourage you to visit the Mixed Media Monday blog and view the wonderful creations inspired by this, the final prompt.

Collage available in my Etsy shop.

Final call for Fashion Fringe Accessories 2011

This week is the final week for submission of entries for the Fashion Fringe 2011 Accessories platform, chaired by Bruno Frisoni, Creative Director of French shoe company Roger Vivier.

There are four days left to submit entries to the competition, which closes on 4 March. No training is needed to be eligible to take part in the accessories platform, as the initiative aims to find and support new accessories design talent, with the opportunity of an apprenticeship at Roger Vivier offered to the winner. The apprenticeship is designed to provide the winner with exposure to all aspects of the luxury accessory business from design and development, to dealing with the press and wholesale account management.

Candidates can apply through the Fashion Fringe website (www.fashionfringe.co.uk) where five finalists will then be shortlisted to present their applications to Bruno Frisoni and his judging panel.
