LONDON FASHION WEEK: BURBERRY PRORSUM F/W '11

I'm starting to wonder if Christopher Bailey could ever present a collection that wouldn't make my heart melt. An absolute change form last year's aviator and biker jackets, this year it's all about bright shades of orange, teal, red, purple and olive and gorgeous shapes accessorised with big buckles that once again reinvent the trench coat.

Such perfection in every piece, every jacket, every coat, every pair of pants, every dress, all so intricately constructed using the most lush fabrics. So different and yet so alike, the collection offered something for all tastes. I'm so in love.. so so in love.

LONDON FASHION WEEK: OSMAN F/W 11

Osman Yousefzada has once again brought us a collection fueled by pure minimalism. Piece after piece of perfectly tailored garments in bright colours constructed so intricately to suit every woman.


Perfect pants, leather tunic dresses, wide necklined tops and gorgeous maxi dresses were all included and beautifully presented. These pieces make me want to get dressed up for work, if that's not a good influence I don't know what is. Well done Osman on yet another gorgeous collection.

LONDON FASHION WEEK: SASS & BIDE F/W '11

{Engy M.} Last season Sass&Bide had a really great collection and when I saw this season's collection, I was almost equally impressed by it. I want to say the whole collection looks like its inspired by African culture because of the patterns, the colours and the accessories, but I cant be really sure.

The combination of colours and the mix of all the different prints and patterns are quite intriguing. I especially love the shoulder-neck accessory, I think its different and that it could actually be wearable.

I'm not a huge fan of the short satin dress or anything in that kinda fabric really and I'm having mixed feelings about the skirts with the petals on them, I feel like they could be worn and styled really nicely but I'm not quiet sure how exactly.

Then there's the purple shoe with the slit down the front, which really reminds me of these red 2007 Chloe's...but I actually sort of like them better than Chloe's!
Pretty good show all in all.

Vauxhall Fashion Scout announces dates for February

Fashion showcase for emerging talent, Vauxhall Fashion Scout, has confirmed its dates for 18-23 February 2011. Taking place at the Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden, VFS will expand to include a second show space allowing designers the flexibility to produce a salon show, presentation or installation. VFS actively promotes both new and seasoned designers to a global audience of media, buyers, celebrities and style leaders. In February, VFS will host Catwalk Womenswear Shows, a Menswear Day and its London Exhibition. Invited guests will also have access to a Media & VIP Lounge providing a place to work, with use of free computers and high speed internet. On|Off introduces new venue for 2011

Running from the 18-20 of February 2011, On|Off will take place at its new venue, Mercer Street Studios, 16 Mercer Street, London WC2H 9QE. This is an intimate venue that will create a unique environment for designers and buyers.

On|Off will be producing a collaborative 3D film to premiere at an exclusive unseen location during London Fashion Week. As well as a schedule consisting of nine selected catwalk shows and three presentations, the space at Mercer Street Studios will also feature a selective elite designer exhibition.

Ethical Fashion Forum launches INNOVATION Awards

The Ethical Fashion Forum has teamed up with the Fairtrade Foundation to launch the INNOVATION Awards. On 30 June at Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED, a panel of judges that includes Fashion Business Club (FBC) members: Dolly Jones - editor of Vogue.com; Courtney Blackman - co-founder and co-chairman of FBC and MD of Forward PR; and model and Fairtrade Foundation Ambassador - Laura Bailey will choose the winners of the INNOVATION Awards. Besides exposing designers and their work to an acclaimed panel of fashion insiders, the finalists will also have the opportunity to exhibit Spring/Summer 2011 collections at either PURE or London Fashion Week’s ESTHETICA in September 2010.

BFC announces 21 designers to receive BFC NEWGEN sponsorship

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced the names of 21 of London’s fashion design talents that will receive BFC NEWGEN sponsorship to show at London Fashion Week (LFW) in September 2010. NEWGEN is an internationally recognised talent identification scheme, with alumni including British designers Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Boudicca, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders and more recently; Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll, Erdem and Meadham Kirchhoff.

BFC opens applications for LFW

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that applications are open for designers to participate in London Fashion Week September 2010. There are six categories for application including womenswear catwalk and presentation, menswear catwalk and presentation, the exhibition, estethica and the talent support scheme NEWGEN sponsored by TOPSHOP and NEWGEN MEN, sponsored by TOPMAN.
