John Galliano will have a bespoke wedding gown displayed at the National Wedding Show at London Earls Court 1 – 3 October 2010. John Galliano, the head designer at Christian Dior, designed the one-off dress for his niece and goddaughter Elizabeth Husband, who married Oliver Hawksley in Gibraltar’s historic Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned this summer. John Galliano himself was born in Gibraltar in 1960 and retains strong links with the destination. The Gibraltar Tourist Board is offering a rare chance to see a couture wedding dress. The design, a sweetheart neckline with a hand-embroidered bodice, includes crystals over the full length of the dress. The skirt, a tribute to the flamenco dress, has several layers and a cascading trail. A full-length cathedral veil measuring 5 metres long enhances the ensemble and is hand embroidered.
